I have been absorbing all the fantastic “Struggling Learner” information from Dianne Craft that I received to the AFHE Conference. This is the third time I’ve sat in on her teaching. WHAT A BLESSING! Her information on the biology of the brain and tools to support and build up skills is awesome. I was reminded of how far the girls really have come in the last 4 years using her Brain Integration Therapy and Right Brain strategies for reading and math. I am inspired and encouraged.
“I just want to share our story. I have a granddaughter who is struggling in many areas. I am working with her for 5 years, since she was 8. She could not retain anything – not even the letter sounds. We started BIT three years ago. She went from a non reader to a fluent reader this past year! We are still working on spelling, comprehension and other areas, but I just can say “THANK YOU” to Dianne Craft for this wonderful program! My granddaughter is a happy, confident 13 year old now!” -Estie
We started the program last week, and this is the first paragraph our 9y/o daughter has written…. ever. The first time she’s written on notebook paper and stayed in the lines. The first time she’s written and not had to go back and correct letter reversals! Excited at the progress. The best part is the boost her confidence has received. Thank you, Dianne Craft!
Dianne I just finished listening to your Biology in Behavior CD and WOW I wish I would have discovered this information YEARS ago! I have started my kiddos on some of the supplements and can indeed see wonderful results in [especially] my oldest daughter, she was talking a Ritalin like medication that just wasn’t do much good – we have since stopped taking the proscription medicine and she began using a few of the supplements…evening primrose, 5HTP, and one other – I can’t remember which…but as I listened to the CD it really looks like I should take some of these with her!
Now I really wish we could have chatted @ the CHAP convention whe you were here! I have so much to learn and don’t know if I have the brain cells to retain it!
I wanted to share with you that my 12 year old FASD son has been following the Brain Integration Therapy for the past four weeks, as well as the Biology of Behavior nutritional plan during the same time period. He has started coming home with math and spelling tests with A’s on them, and even more importantly, he says he understands what’s going on in class and isn’t frustrated. Twice he has asked to read to me at night (this NEVER happened before) so he could show me what a good reader he is becoming. Words cannot express my gratitude, Dianne Craft!!
My son I have been doing the writing 8 with him for a just couple weeks. His stuttering has gone down a lot and he state qualified in speech today! I am so proud and thankful I was told about this!
This quote “If ‘Plan A’ didn’t work, the alphabet has 25 more letters. Stay cool” reminds me of something Dianne Craft says when she is teaching on Right Brain techniques. If “Plan A” (which is Left Brain curriculum) isn’t working, then try Plan B (Right Brain stuff)! Let me tell you, we are loving Plan B when A doesn’t work! It’s FANTASTIC! What joy there is in knowing ways to help your kids learn no matter what their style or Brain Dominance is! It’s opened up the world of learning at our house, and we are so thankful and having so much more fun! Thank you Dianne Craft!
Even though Dianne’s program takes time lots and lots of time, IT WORKS!!! The improvements I have seen in my daughter make me cry happy tears, It takes a lot of diligence but it is well worth it, believe me. To a point I think Brain Integration Therapy needs to become part of her life. Just like she brushes teeth she does the “dailies” in the morning. So all I have to say for those already doing this program keep on keeping on and the newcomers progress might be minuscule at first but do not give up it will come I promise. When I found Dianne we were almost at the end of the rope!
My son is now staying up after bedtime to read!!!! He is 10.5. And we have been doing BIT for about 6 months -Amy
We have been doing the brain integration therapy for 7 weeks. My son was diagnosed with “severe dyslexia” 3 years ago. Over the past 2 years he gained ground from a 1grade reading level to a 3rd grade reading level (these past 2 years and where he tested when we started Brain integration therapy.)
I decided to test him this week as we are stopping for the week of Christmas. He tested in a 4th grade reading level!!!!! And not just barely either. He read 44 words past where we had to stop with the first placement evaluation. SO thankful. What a way to end the year! Even better…what a way to start the new year!
